The key points
- TeachAtlas provides general information about teaching English abroad. It does not provide personalised professional advice or decide your eligibility.
- Browsing its free content does not, by itself, engage Mihail Florin Gavrila or any of his professional practices or other businesses.
- Professional titles, shared ownership and external links do not imply a professional retainer, regulatory endorsement or guarantee.
- Check current official requirements and the actual employer offer before spending money, signing a contract or moving.
This notice does not exclude liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
1. General information, not personal advice
TeachAtlas is an independent information project founded by Mihail Florin Gavrila. Its destination guides, news, newsletters, comparisons, eligibility summaries, checklists and calculators are educational starting points. They do not take the place of advice based on your complete circumstances.
The content is not personalised legal, immigration, tax, financial, investment, employment, safeguarding, medical or other professional advice. A guide may describe a rule or a teaching pathway without determining how it applies to you. Seek advice from an appropriately qualified and, where required, authorised adviser when your decision needs it.
2. Browsing does not appoint an adviser
Merely accessing, reading, downloading or using TeachAtlas’s free content or planning tools does not, by itself, create a professional-services contract, retainer, solicitor–client, notary–client, adviser–client or fiduciary relationship with Mihail Florin Gavrila, TeachAtlas, a contributor, or any professional practice or other business associated with the founder.
Submitting a newsletter subscription or a general enquiry does not, by itself, instruct the founder or another business to advise or act for you. Do not assume that sending information means a matter has been accepted, that a deadline is being monitored, or that legal professional privilege attaches to a message. Avoid sending confidential documents or sensitive personal information through general website channels.
A separate professional engagement requires the relevant provider’s own engagement process and agreement. This notice does not override an actual separate agreement, the legal effect of subsequent conduct, or rights and duties imposed by law. It does not treat browsing as acceptance of a professional engagement.
3. Professional status and separate businesses
Mihail Florin Gavrila’s professional background is biographical information. His professional title or qualifications do not turn TeachAtlas content into personal advice, establish specialist expertise in every destination, or mean that he has personally checked every statement. This website’s information service is not an offer of legal or notarial services.
The founder’s other businesses, professional practices and information projects have their own purposes and arrangements. Common ownership, a founder’s name, a logo, a link or a reference does not, without more, mean that another business is a party to your dealings, has agreed to advise you, guarantees this website, or accepts responsibility for an employer, programme or provider.
Do not assume that another practice’s regulatory status, professional indemnity insurance or client-protection arrangements apply to your use of TeachAtlas. References to the founder’s professional status do not imply approval or endorsement of TeachAtlas by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the Faculty Office, or any other professional body or public authority. Nothing in this notice removes any professional, regulatory or other obligation that actually applies by law.
4. Eligibility, employment and relocation
TeachAtlas does not grant visas, work permission, professional recognition or teaching registration, make binding eligibility decisions, or issue employment offers. A TEFL or other training certificate does not automatically establish a lawful work route. UK residence does not necessarily mean that you hold a British passport.
Confirm the rules for your actual passport, residence rights, qualifications, experience, age where relevant, health requirements and family circumstances with the appropriate authority, regulator, official programme and employer. A route described for one applicant profile may not be available to another.
Before paying for training, applying, resigning, signing or relocating, verify the employer’s identity, sponsorship, contract, guaranteed pay and hours, deductions, benefits, housing, first-pay date, insurance and cancellation arrangements. Check current travel advice, local law and the conditions for dependants, partner work and children’s schooling. A link or listing is not a guarantee of safety, suitability or availability.
5. Dates, estimates, tools and automated content
Rules, recruitment cycles, salaries, taxes, exchange rates, living costs and travel conditions can change. Publication and source-check dates identify a point in time; they do not promise continuous monitoring. Reasonable efforts to identify sources and uncertainty do not guarantee that every item is complete, current, error-free or suitable for your purpose.
Financial scenarios and calculator outputs are illustrative estimates using stated assumptions and your inputs. They are not a salary offer, tax assessment, budget guarantee or promise of savings. Your accommodation, deductions, benefits, family costs, student-loan obligations and timing of payments may differ. Missing data is not a zero cost.
TeachAtlas uses AI-assisted research and synthesis, as explained in its research standards and newsroom policy. Automated content and tool outputs can contain errors. Source links should be read in context; citations do not establish a personal professional review. Unless the law requires otherwise, no warranty is given that the information or website will meet every need or remain continuously available.
6. External organisations and commercial relationships
Authorities, employers, recruiters, schools, training providers and linked websites are responsible for their own statements, services and decisions. TeachAtlas is not a party to a contract you make directly with a third party unless a separate agreement or the actual circumstances establish otherwise. Check that provider’s terms, credentials, payment protections and complaints arrangements.
Links and source citations do not imply reciprocal endorsement or a guarantee. Any advertising, sponsorship or affiliate relationship must be identified; a commercial relationship does not establish eligibility or justify a favourable research conclusion. These statements do not exclude responsibility for TeachAtlas’s own conduct where the law imposes it.
7. Limits of responsibility
The exceptions in section 8 take priority over this section. To the extent that an exclusion is permitted by applicable law and is fair and reasonable where those requirements apply, the founder, publisher and contributors exclude responsibility for loss resulting from treating TeachAtlas’s general information, estimates or tools as personalised advice, a binding eligibility decision or a guarantee of an outcome.
This limitation is intended to cover, only where lawful, losses associated with errors, omissions or outdated information; differences between modelled and actual finances; unsuccessful or delayed applications; training or application expenditure; travel or relocation decisions; and third-party offers, acts or failures. It does not automatically make every such loss your responsibility: whether a person is liable, and whether a particular limitation is effective, depends on the facts and applicable law.
Describing TeachAtlas as a project does not itself create a separate legal entity or shield anyone from obligations imposed by law. Any responsibility that the founder, publisher or a contributor actually has remains subject to applicable law.
8. Liability and rights that remain protected
Nothing in this notice excludes or restricts:
- liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- consumer rights, data-protection rights, statutory remedies or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted; or
- any other liability which it would be unlawful to exclude or restrict.
The privacy notice explains personal-data handling separately. This disclaimer does not waive data-subject rights or transfer away responsibilities imposed by data-protection law. It does not impose an exclusive court venue or override mandatory protections that apply to a reader in another jurisdiction.
If any part of this notice cannot lawfully be relied on, that part does not apply; the remainder operates only to the extent permitted by law. The protected rights above remain intact. Continued browsing is not treated as a waiver of those rights. Changes to this notice will be dated; they do not retrospectively remove accrued rights.
9. Legal framework and review
This notice was drafted by reference to the law of England and Wales and checked against the primary sources below on 28 October 2026. Which rules apply depends on the circumstances. In particular, a free website is not automatically outside the rules on consumer notices.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015, sections 61–62: scope and fairness of consumer notices. Section 62.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 65: negligence exclusions; section 68: transparency.
- Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 57: restrictions where a relevant consumer services contract exists.
- Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, section 2 and section 11: applicable exclusions and reasonableness outside the consumer regime displaced by section 2(4).
- Misrepresentation Act 1967, section 3: relevant contractual exclusions; consumer terms are addressed by the Consumer Rights Act.
- UK GDPR, Article 82: compensation and responsibilities under data-protection law.
- HIH Casualty v Chase Manhattan Bank [2003] UKHL 6, paragraph 16: exclusion of a party’s own fraud.
The effectiveness of a disclaimer depends on its wording, presentation, the actual service and the circumstances in which it is used. This page does not certify that every exclusion will be enforceable in every case.
