An open application window for spring 2027

EPIK’s official application page lists the spring 2027 intake as available on 30 October 2026. It records an opening date of 1 August 2026 and describes a rolling application process. This is an update on an existing recruitment window, not an announcement that applications opened today.

For UK applicants considering public-school English teaching in South Korea, the immediate task is to check whether the programme fits their circumstances. An available application form establishes neither an individual’s eligibility nor a reserved job.

Check the full applicant profile

The programme’s eligibility guidance lists the United Kingdom among its eligible citizenships and sets education-history and degree requirements. Living in Britain alone does not meet its nationality condition. Applicants whose schooling or university education took place outside the designated countries should obtain a specific assessment rather than assume that an English-taught degree is sufficient.

For graduates without an exempt education-related qualification, EPIK requires a qualifying TEFL, TESOL, CELTA or similar course of at least 100 hours. Its guidance permits applicants to complete that training during the application process, subject to the stated completion deadline. A relevant teaching licence or education degree can change the training requirement; it does not remove the other conditions.

Prepare for the stage after the interview

EPIK’s document guide separates the initial application from the package required after a successful interview. That package includes items such as an apostilled criminal-record check, an apostilled degree and sealed transcripts. The guide specifically directs UK applicants to additional-document instructions. Use the current intake pages for each document’s exact form and timing.

The application process then involves recommendation to an office of education, its placement decision and the relevant visa steps. Interview success is one stage of that sequence, not the end of it.

A useful preparation list for this week

TeachAtlas recommends making one application record with four columns: requirement, evidence you hold, action still needed and the official page supporting it. Resolve citizenship and education-history questions first. Next, check your training completion date and ask referees about availability. Only then plan the certification and delivery of time-sensitive documents.

Before accepting a placement, request its actual work location, complete duties, housing terms, deductions and first-pay arrangements. Keep money for arrival separate from any later reimbursement. These are practical planning questions, not additional EPIK eligibility rules. Use our South Korea guide to compare the route, then return to EPIK for the latest intake instructions.
